A Documentary Approach to Portrait Photography
Justin Mott’s portrait photography in Vietnam spans editorial features, executive sittings, talent and athlete portraits, NGO leadership portraits, and commercial assignments across Asia and beyond.
Justin photographs people on location, using natural or available light and as little staging as the brief allows. The goal is a portrait that feels true to the person, whether the subject is a CEO in a corner office, an artist in a studio, an athlete mid-training, or a survivor in their home.
Many of his subjects would rather not be photographed. Taking time in the room before the camera comes out is part of the work.
