Justin Mott - Vietnam Conservation & Wildlife Photography – Documenting the Fight to Protect Nature

Vietnam is home to some of the most biodiverse ecosystems in the world, but it also faces immense environmental challenges due to deforestation, poaching, and habitat loss. As a conservation and wildlife photographer in Vietnam, I use my camera as a storytelling tool to document wildlife, endangered species, and the dedicated individuals fighting to protect them.

Why Conservation Photography Matters

Photography is a powerful medium for raising awareness, driving change, and supporting conservation efforts. Whether working with NGOs, wildlife organizations, or editorial publications, my goal is to create impactful, thought-provoking imagery that sheds light on Vietnam’s environmental struggles and successes.

  • Highlighting Endangered Species – Documenting wildlife at risk, including pangolins, gibbons, and langurs

  • Showcasing Conservation Efforts – Telling the stories of rangers, scientists, and local communities fighting to protect nature

  • Exposing Environmental Threats – Capturing the impact of deforestation, poaching, and climate change on Vietnam’s ecosystems

  • Inspiring Change – Using photography to drive conservation action and policy reform

My Approach to Conservation & Wildlife Photography

Wildlife photojournalism requires a combination of patience, research, and ethical practices. My approach is rooted in:

Ethical & Responsible Photography

I believe in documenting nature without disturbance. Every image is captured with respect for wildlife and their habitats, following the principles of responsible conservation photography.

Authentic Storytelling

I go beyond just taking stunning images—I focus on narratives that educate audiences and highlight both the beauty and urgency of conservation work.

Collaboration with Conservation Organizations

I partner with wildlife sanctuaries, NGOs, and research teams to help visually document their missions and amplify their voices.
